The longest running podcast to discuss radio, The Media Podcast, is getting a rebrand as The Media Club.
Matt Deegan remains at the helm, but the change is, as the presser says, designed to reflect that much of the show’s audience work in media themselves and that they should feel like participants as well as listeners.
The podcast, in various forms, has been publishing episodes since 2006, and brings together media correspondents and practitioners to talk about the week’s media news.
The relaunched show has also expanded its output with full video episodes on YouTube, content across X, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn plus a website and newsletter at themediaclub.com.
Producer Matt Hill says: “We’ve always had feedback and insight from listeners who work all across the media from recent graduates to channel controllers. With the relaunch we wanted to better reflect the whole community and we think The Media Club does that.”
Today’s first episode sees Matt Deegan joined by Deadline’s Investigations Editor Jake Kanter and the Radio Academy’s Aradhna Tayal Leach.
Matt Deegan says: “It’s a privilege to talk to media experts and those creating great content for audiences, whether on air, in print or on digital platforms every week. Media touches entertainment, business, politics – it’s great to be able to cover it all on The Media Club”.
The podcast is produced by Rethink Audio, with the rebrand led by podcast marketing agency Podcast Discovery and recorded at PodShop.
