Cheshire’s MIX 56 recently undertook a job swap with the sponsors of its breakfast show, McDonald’s Lymm and Birchwood.
Breakfast presenter Paul Smith swapped roles with crew member David Brittles for the day. With very little time to prepare David hosted the final hour of the breakfast show live, using the equipment, reading out what’s on information and some local news.
Smithy went through some strict health and safety training before he was let loose on the public serving on the tills, the drive thru and also cleaning the tables and sweeping the floor.
Paul Smith said: “Dave was a natural behind the mic and was so professional. He is welcome to do the full show so I can have a lie in.
“I did cheat a bit because I worked at McDonald’s in Chester when I was at school. My favourite was the drive thru and if they were listening to MIX 56 I gave them a few extra fries!”
Jayne Aspin-Mayne owner of James Eats Ltd who operate McDonald’s Lymm and Birchwood added: “The guys did great. David Is a natural performer and has a great personality so I knew he would rise to the live radio challenge.
“I knew Smithy would do well with the drive thru challenge as he likes talking a lot. He looked the part in his uniform too!”
