Cardiff based audio production company Bengo Media is to take over production of Money for Nothing and Solid Gold Sunday on BBC Radio Wales.
Both shows are presented by Welsh comedian and broadcaster, Owen Money, who has been with the station since the late 1980s.
Money For Nothing is the station’s Saturday morning live request show and Solid Gold Sunday a music show, curated by Owen, featuring hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
Bengo Media was awarded the production of both shows following a tendering process conducted by BBC Radio Wales. The company will take over production from 5th April and is looking to recruit a producer for both shows.
Vicki Blight, Head of Radio and Commissioned Audio at Bengo Media said: “Owen Money is a national treasure in Wales and his shows are a cornerstone of the Radio Wales schedule.
“We’re excited to be working with Owen and to bring our live music radio experience, to help his shows go from strength to strength.”
Steve Austins, co-founder and Creative Director of Bengo Media added: “We’re over the moon to be producing Owen Money’s weekend shows for BBC Radio Wales.
“As a former head of the station, I know only too well about the connection Owen has with his audiences. We’re looking forward to maintaining Owen’s position as one of the most popular presenters on Radio Wales.”
