Hits Radio’s James Barr’s podcast picks up Webby Award

Comedians James Barr and Dan Hudson have won a Webby Award for their podcast, A Gay And A Nongay.

This is the podcast’s first win in a major international awards ceremony – at the 2025 Webby Awards in New York City.

Hits Radio Breakfast Show co-host James and Dan picked up the People’s Voice trophy in the category of Best Independent Podcast.

Launched in 2015, A Gay and A NonGay has established itself as a podcast for LGBTQ+ people and their friends, breaking down barriers between gays and nongays across over 400 episodes.

In that time, they have appeared on the front cover of Attitude magazine, released a BBC TV documentary Sashay To Hell and launched their own brand of LGBTQIPA beer, which raises money for trans charity Mermaids.

James and Dan said: “We don’t agree on a lot, but one thing we can both agree on is how delighted we are to win a Webby Award. This is absolutely huge!”
