International Women’s Podcast Awards announces this year’s nominees

The nominees for this year’s International Women’s Podcast Awards have been announced today.

Entries were received from a record 35 countries and a full list of the nominees across all 10 categories can be seen here.

The event, now in its fifth year, will take place on Tuesday 17th June at the BBC Radio Theatre in London, with a global livestream available for remote attendees.

Over a third of this year’s entries used the IWPA Bursary Fund, which was launched in 2022 and is supported by BBC Sounds, Amazon Music and Wondery.

The bursary offers free entry and ticket access to those who may benefit, and, as in previous years, feedback continues to be that improving financial accessibility is essential for the podcast industry.

A new initiative this year also allows ticket holders to gift an in-person or virtual ticket to someone else.

Entries came from a wide range of countries including Senegal, Qatar and the Philippines. The judging panel, which includes audio and podcasting professionals from around the world, noted the exceptional range and quality of this year’s submissions.

The awards aim to recognise podcasters creating powerful work in areas such as education, storytelling and creative production. Tickets for the ceremony are available via the IWPA website.
