David Andrews, who moves to Nation Classic Hits after many years at Gold said: “I’m so happy to be back in my regular time of 10-2 on such a great sounding station. With familiar radio voices across the day and the best variety of classic hits, we’re the new place on the dial for listeners who love their music.”
Dean Martin said: “Social media has exploded since the news came out! It’s clear there’s a real appetite for a station that plays a huge variety of all-time classic hits with a great line up of experienced radio presenters.”
Nation is also investing in its broadcast platforms and distribution, adding Nation 90s and Nation 70s to its London DAB portfolio and Nation 80s to the Central Scotland and Ayr multiplexes from tomorrow, Friday 23rd May.
Nation’s founder Jason Bryant said: “Nation has recently enjoyed a period of sustained growth and last week posted a record weekly audience of over 1.3 million listeners.
“This is a milestone investment; adding Nation Classic Hits, Nation 90s and Nation 70s to Nation Radio and Nation 80s will give us five services available across the UK’s biggest market and signals our ambitious plans for expansion.
“The successful UK launch of Nation 80s has given us a great foundation to grow our national business. These additional services already perform strongly on streamed devices and on the Nation Player app and this investment will accelerate that growth.”
