WorldDAB Automotive 2025 to focus on broadcast-first approach

The WorldDAB Automotive 2025 event will focus on the theme “Broadcast First!” and showcase the role of DAB+ digital radio in the connected car experience.

Held at Palacio Neptuno in Madrid on 19 June, the forum will bring together experts from the broadcast and automotive sectors to discuss the momentum of DAB+ adoption in Spain and worldwide.

Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE launched DAB+ last year, with RNE digital services now live in 15 cities and an estimated four million vehicles already equipped with DAB+ receivers across the country.

The event will feature keynote speakers including RTVE’s Javier Sanchez, Cellnex’s Jaume Pujol, and WorldDAB President Jacqueline Bierhorst, alongside representatives from Ford, Xperi, Radioplayer, and public service broadcasters from France and Switzerland.

Sessions will examine DAB+ rollout in Europe and Australia, the integration of broadcast and app-based listening, and the role of connected cars in expanding digital radio.

Bernie O’Neill, Project Director at WorldDAB, said: “With RTVE’s rapid rollout of DAB+ across Spain in the last twelve months, Madrid was the obvious location for our 2025 event.”

The programme will also explore hybrid radio and how broadcasters are developing seamless in-car audio experiences for drivers.

An exclusive networking dinner will take place on 18 June at Oroya Madrid, supported by sponsors including Xperi, AIM, Paneda, ITEL and AVT.

Attendance is free and registration is now open on the WorldDAB website.
