Jordan North ‘chuffed to bits’ after winning first ever radio award

Capital’s Jordan North has won Best Radio Presenter at the TRIC Awards for the first time in his career.

Jordan accepted the honour in a video message, saying: “I am chuffed to bits. I’ve never ever won a radio award in my career, and I’ve been doing this since I was 16. It really does mean a lot.”

The award was announced this week at the TRIC Awards in London, where the Radio Presenter of the Year category was decided by public vote.

Jordan recorded the message while on holiday. In his speech, he thanked the judges and gave a nod to his fellow nominees, adding: “Simon Mayo, the guy is radio. Ally McCoist, you cannae beat a bit of AC/DC. And Vernon Kay, yeah whatever. No, love you Vernon, can’t wait to see you soon.”

The win marks a milestone moment for Jordan, who began his radio career at 16 and has previously presented on Radio 1 and Rock FM.
