BBC to broadcast 50 hours from Royal Welsh Show 2025

BBC radio, TV and online teams will deliver more than 50 hours of coverage from the Royal Welsh Show this year.

Broadcasts will come from Llanelwedd between Monday 21 July and Thursday 24 July, with BBC Radio 4, Radio Wales, Radio Cymru, BBC Wales Today and online services all involved.

Live programmes from across the showground will include coverage from the Welsh Food Village and the Gwledd Stage. BBC presenters will also be based at the BBC Pavilion, which returns this year opposite the main ring.

James Williams will host BBC Radio Wales Breakfast live from 7am each morning. Jason Mohammad presents a special edition of the Radio Wales Phone-In on Wednesday, and the station’s Drive programme will round up the day’s highlights daily.

BBC Radio Cymru will also be live every day with Dros Frecwast from 7am and Bore Cothi from 11am. Troi’r Tir airs in the evenings Monday to Wednesday, with other shows including Post Prynhawn joining in from the event.

Radio 4’s Farming Today will be on site too, with Charlotte Smith recording a special edition on Wednesday afternoon.

There will be daily performances and broadcasts from Eleri Sion, Owen Money, Lois Cernyw and Robin Morgan at the Gwledd Stage. Special appearances include Horizons artists and Rose Datta on Monday. Marc Griffiths will also host live shows throughout the week.

On Thursday, gardening broadcaster Terry Walton will make a live appearance in the Horticulture Village for fans of his BBC Sounds Plotcast.

Nick Servini presents BBC Wales Today each evening from the showground, with a round-up special airing at 8pm on Friday 25 July.

BBC Wales News Online and BBC Cymru Fyw will also be posting daily reports and features across the week.

Visitors to the BBC Pavilion can join a silent disco with playlists from Radio Wales and Radio Cymru 2, take part in a sports commentary simulator, and explore a Children in Need infographic showing how the charity supports projects across Wales.

The Horizons/Gorwelion stage will feature daily performances from emerging Welsh artists including Taran, Mynadd, Rhiannon O’Connor, Aeron Pughe and Morgan Elwy.
