Global has acquired Riviera Radio, the English-language radio station broadcasting from Monaco across the French Riviera.
Riviera Radio was bought from Grundy Media and will continue under the leadership of Managing Director Paul Kavanagh.
The deal marks a return to former ownership, as the station was once part of the Capital Radio Group, now owned by Global.
It was also the station where Ashley Tabor-King, Founder & Executive President of Global, began his broadcasting career.
He told RadioToday: “We welcome this much-loved station to Global. Monaco is a thriving country, as is the French Riviera, and we are looking forward to investing in this market.”
Paul Kavanagh added: “It’s exactly what Riviera Radio needs and it’s a fantastic vote of confidence in Monaco and the South of France.”
Riviera Radio is well known for its coverage of major events in the region including the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix.
The station reaches listeners in Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Antibes and St. Tropez on 106.5 FM, DAB+ and online, and has been running since 1987.
