NLive Radio’s Station Manager Martin Steers has been recognised for his work in local radio and community service.
He has received the Rose of Northamptonshire Award, which celebrates those who make outstanding contributions across the county.
Martin was praised for his dedication to community broadcasting, including his role in supporting volunteers and championing local stories on air. NLive Radio, which broadcasts entirely local content, has grown significantly under his leadership.
Speaking after receiving the award, Martin said: “This award is a reflection of the incredible team of volunteers who make NLive Radio what it is. I’m proud to be part of a station that champions local voices and serves our community every single day.”
The award is organised by Northamptonshire Community Foundation to highlight individuals who go above and beyond in their communities. Rachel McGrath, Chief Executive of the Foundation, said it was important to recognise the vital contributions made by volunteers and local leaders.
Martin is one of this year’s Rose of Northamptonshire recipients, joining others who have made a lasting impact across the county through their voluntary or community work.
NLive Radio is based at the University of Northampton and can be heard on 106.9FM and online at nliveradio.com.
