Virgin Radio UK will broadcast live performances from this year’s Latitude Festival, including headline sets from Kaiser Chiefs and Fatboy Slim.
It’s the first time the station has aired headline sets from the main stage at the event, which takes place at Henham Park in Suffolk from 24 to 27 July.
Virgin Radio’s weekend coverage will include extended live shows, pop-up gigs, backstage interviews and festival specials across the network.
The headline performances from Kaiser Chiefs and Fatboy Slim will be broadcast live on Saturday night from 7:30pm, marking a milestone in Virgin’s third year as Latitude’s official radio partner.
On Friday night, Feeder and The Royston Club will perform special pop-up gigs hosted by Virgin Radio at the festival’s Trailer Park.
On Sunday at 3:40pm, the station teams up with HarperCollins to host a live conversation between Guy Garvey from Elbow and Adam Buxton on the Listening Post stage.
Later that night, the Virgin Radio Latitude Closing Party will feature Jamie Reynolds from The Klaxons presenting *Britpop and Beyond* from 11pm.
Sinead Garvan will be reporting from Henham Park throughout the weekend, and special editions of Virgin Radio shows will air on Saturday and Sunday mornings featuring guest interviews and live music.
Adam Buxton said: “I’m delighted to be recording a podcast for Virgin Radio in front of an audience at the Latitude Listening Post, but this time I’ll be the guest and the host will be Guy Garvey. I look forward to waffling with Guy about music and much else.”
The Royston Club said: “This is our first time playing Latitude and we’re looking forward to playing at the festival and our special gig at the trailer park with Virgin Radio.”
