
Bill Rennells interview series launches on Radio Cherwell
A four-part biography series about Bill Rennells will air on Radio Cherwell from 22nd February at 10pm.
The hour-long programmes, titled In Conversation with Bill Rennells, with Lisa Simmons, have been recorded by BBC presenter and producer Lisa Simmons and will broadcast on Sundays via the hospital station’s website, smart speakers and on listen again.
Bill presented Harmony Night on BBC Radio Oxford, Kent and Berkshire until 2023. He previously hosted the late-night programme Nightride on BBC Radio 2 for 14 years.
He was also one of the first presenters on SAGA Radio when it launched in 2004.
The series is based on an interview with Bill and revisits his broadcasting career, accompanied by his favourite music and archive BBC clips. It will air in his former Harmony Night slot.
Lisa Simmons said on X: “EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT: Calling all Harmony Night fans! I am delighted to announce that Bill Rennells & I have recorded a series of 4, hour long programmes on Radio Cherwell… In Conversation with Bill Rennells, with Lisa Simmons”.
Mark Watson, who edited and mixed the programmes, said: “Next Sunday sees a biography series about his life, based on an interview with Lisa Simmons, edited and mixed by me with Bill’s favourite music and some archive BBC clips. It’s in four parts and starts on 22nd February at 10pm in his old Harmony Night slot.”
