Catholic Celebs series launches on Radio Maria!

A new monthly programme will add a faith-focused strand to Radio Maria England’s schedule from February.

Catholic Celebs is a one-hour series designed to give listeners insight into how well-known Catholics navigate belief alongside public life, bringing conversation-led content and music into the station’s regular output.

Presented by broadcaster Edward Adoo, the programme will feature guests from entertainment and public life reflecting on key moments that have shaped their faith, and how it continues to influence their personal and professional decisions. The aim is to reflect a range of experiences, from those who speak openly about religion to those who practise more privately.

Radio Maria England says the series responds to growing interest in faith and religious practice, while offering familiar voices a platform to discuss belief without a devotional format. The programme will sit within the station’s broader mission to provide speech and music content rooted in Catholic life and values.

Priest Director Fr Toby Lees said the station wanted to highlight different expressions of faith among public figures, adding that the timing felt right for a new series exploring personal journeys. He said some guests would be vocal about belief, while others would reflect more quietly on its place in their lives.

Edward said hosting the programme felt personally meaningful, noting that church had remained a constant in his own life. He said the series would allow guests to share formative moments and give something back through open discussion.

The first edition airs on Thursday 12 February 2026 at 10:00am, with Anne Hegerty, known as The Governess on ITV’s The Chase, confirmed as the opening guest.
