Global launches twice weekly Formula 1 podcast

Global is expanding its sports podcast slate with an in-house F1 title twice a week.

Up To Speed launches on Monday 16 February and will be available on Global Player, YouTube and major podcast platforms, giving Global fresh, regular F1 content built around reaction, analysis and interviews across the race season.

The show brings together Will Buxton, Naomi Schiff, David Coulthard and Jolie Sharpe, combining current paddock insight with experience from both driving and broadcasting.

Episodes will be released on Mondays and Thursdays, with early-week programmes reacting to race weekends and later episodes focusing on a single major talking point or guest.

According to Global, the format is designed to sit alongside its existing audio brands while appealing to both established fans and newer audiences discovering the sport. Listeners will also be invited to submit questions for the presenters to address during the series.

Will Buxton said the podcast would focus on the stories and personalities around the sport, adding that it would allow the team to react quickly and share behind-the-scenes context fans do not always hear elsewhere.

Naomi Schiff said the series reflects conversations that happen at races but rarely make it beyond the paddock, while David Coulthard described it as a timely launch during a period of growing interest in Formula 1.

Up To Speed is produced by Global Studios, which now houses podcast brands including The Fellas Studios and The Overlap, and forms part of Global’s wider audio, video and distribution operation.
