Presenters from three of Global’s national stations have taken part in a Formula 1 themed challenge at Silverstone as part of a new campaign with Sky Sports.
The project brings together teams from Heart, Capital and Radio X in a go-kart race filmed at the circuit, forming the first campaign to feature multiple Global radio brands competing against each other in the same promotion.
Heart’s Mark Wright and Pandora Christie, Capital’s Siân Welby and Kem Cetinay, and Radio X presenters Chris Moyles and Polly James each completed laps on a specially designed track, aiming to set the fastest time and reach the top of a campaign leaderboard.
The week-long series premiered on Global Player before appearing across the stations’ TikTok and Instagram accounts. Sky Sports F1 pundit Martin Brundle presented the challenge with commentary support from David Croft.
On-air mentions and live reads across the three stations directed listeners to watch the episodes on Global Player, with highlights and interviews from the track used across the networks.
The collaboration also included a competition giving listeners the chance to win an at-home viewing bundle featuring a television, sound system and a twelve month NOW Sports membership.

Global says the activity marks the start of wider work with Sky Sports around major Formula 1 races during the season.
