Rewind Radio names Craig Hicks to lead
Cornwall’s Rewind Radio has appointed Craig Hicks as Interim Head of Programming and its new Duchy Daytimes presenter.
He joins the Cornish station with 30 years of broadcasting experience and will be heard on air every weekday from 1pm to 4pm.
Craig began in hospital radio before moving into commercial broadcasting, including a role at Spire FM in Salisbury when it was part of the UKRD Group. Six years ago, he co-founded Salisbury Radio alongside David and Andy, focusing on community-led output and local storytelling.
At Rewind Radio, Craig will support the station’s growth and development while overseeing programming and continuing its focus on Cornwall-based content.
Craig said: “I’m delighted to join a great team who share the same values as I do. Local radio is the lifeline to communities for many people.”
He added: “Since joining Cornwall’s Rewind Radio, I have experienced that real localness. The listeners interact daily, local charities utilise the station to help them share their messages, and local businesses support the station to help it grow.”
Born with a visual disability and totally blind, Craig has built his career using technology and determination, combining on-air work with leadership responsibilities.
