Welsh Coast Radio Easter Egg Appeal reaches new record

A community campaign led by Welsh Coast Radio has delivered more than 900 Easter eggs to patients and care residents across Swansea.

The station’s Easter Egg Appeal, run with Freedom Leisure Centres in Swansea and Action for Elders, also distributed 80 jigsaws during a four-day tour of hospitals, wards, community settings, and residential care facilities.

The Easter Bunny visited multiple locations, meeting more than 1,200 people and bringing moments of contact and conversation to those receiving care or living in supported accommodation.

This year’s appeal reached further than before, extending beyond hospitals to include older adults and long-term residents in care and nursing homes across the Swansea Bay University Health Board area.

Welsh Coast Radio said the appeal showed what happens when a community works together, adding that “every egg, every jigsaw, every smile… it all mattered”.

Freedom Leisure Swansea said its members and staff “went above and beyond” to support the initiative, while Action for Elders said the visits reminded older people they are “seen, valued, and never forgotten”.
