
A total of 28 Restricted Service Licences have started broadcasting around the UK for Ramadan.
The 30 day stations commenced this week in a variety of towns and cities with significant Asian populations, including London, Leicester, Slough, Bradford, Blackburn and Manchester.
Ofcom only usually allows temporary licences for up to 28 days, but makes a special exception in order for the complete event to be covered.
London has three stations this year – in Greenwich, Whitechapel, Harrow. There are four in West Yorkshire, three in Lancashire, two in Greater Manchester and one each in Edinburgh and Cardiff.
