Redican is new MD at RAB

Simon Redican has been appointed as managing director of the Radio Advertising Bureau. He joins the organisation from News International where he was media account director of The Times solutions team. It follows the recent appointment of Martina King as RAB non-executive chairman.

Redican, who has many years experience in the media agency field, worked at The Media Shop as media planning director before moving to Carat UK as associate director, a position he held for 5 years. Redican then spent a number of years at Mediavest as head of radio and then head of planning. Prior to joining News International, he was sales director at Classic FM.

Redican will report to Andrew Harrison, CEO, RadioCentre. Said Harrison, “I am absolutely delighted that we have appointed Simon as the new MD of the RAB. He has spent most of his career in media planning; he loves radio and his knowledge and experience is a terrific complement to Martina’s digital background.”

Said Redican, “I have always been a great fan of radio and I’m looking forward to joining Andrew and the rest of the RAB team to help deliver an exciting future for Commercial Radio in the digital age”.

The announcement comes ahead of the RAB relaunch event which is taking place next week. It is expected that Redican will take up the role at the end of May.
