An interview on 5 live between John Inverdale and John Francome and Lizzie Kelly resulted in an apology for the C word.
John was trying to say rose tinted glasses but swapped tinted for c**ted instead. The 5 live veteran was broadcasting live from the Cheltenham Festival and said sorry straight away for the ‘slip of the tongue’.
John was all over Twitter and even the news websites with hours of the mistake happening at 3pm today (Tuesday).
It’s not the first time in recent weeks the C word has made an appearance on BBC national radio – with Lynn Bowles repeating it three times in February during a travel bulletin.
