English station moves to DAB+ in Brussels

Radio X, the online radio station serving Brussels, will launch on DAB+ in Belgium this August.

The station has been streaming and podcasting since 2012 and will reach a potential audience of eight million people. It is currently the only English speaking station aimed at the country.

Radio X is encouraging listeners to give them money via an Indiegogo page for ongoing transmitter costs and copyright fees and in return will provide training and internship opportunities. They have a target of £40,000.

“Tell friends and colleagues that there’s an English-language radio station for them, broadcasting free-to-air across Brussels. Join us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates,” the station says.

“The whole Radio X team thank you for your support. We can’t wait to launch in August!”
