Absolute Radio COO Clive Dickens to exit

Absolute Radio Chief Operating Officer Clive Dickens is leaving the station after almost five years to join Southern Cross Austereo in Sydney.

Clive will not be directly replaced, instead Chief Executive Officer Donnach O’Driscoll and Chief Financial Officer Adrian Robinson, along with Tony Moorey, Content Director will be assuming greater responsibility for all programming and content output across the Absolute Radio Network.

Tony and the Directors with day to day responsibility for Marketing (Clare Baker), Technology (Paul Brown) and Communications (Cat Macdonald) will report directly to Donnach or Adrian.

Clive’s departure comes as talk of the station’s sale nears completion, but he’ll continue as COO at Absolute Radio until spring this year.

He’ll take up the position of Director of Digital and Innovation at Southern Cross Austereo – owners of 2DayFM.

Donnach O’Driscoll – Chief Executive, Absolute Radio said, “We wish Clive the very best as he embarks on a new chapter of his life and career in Australia. His contribution to the business over the last five years has been nothing short of enormous. He has, in that time, fostered and developed a great team of people and Adrian and I look forward to working even more closely with them.”

Clive Dickens commented, “During an amazing 2012 Absolute Radio achieved a twelve year record RAJAR high in audience including going to Number One Commercial Brand in 15+ Males in London plus being voted Commercial Radio Station of the Year. I am really sad to leave but it has always been an ambition to live closer to my family in Australia and this opportunity to work within the wider Asia Pacific Digital economy is the chance of a lifetime. Absolute Radio is in great shape and I will be leaving it in great hands.”
