The Radio Academy Yorkshire branch is hosting an event with Rod McKenzie, Editor of BBC Radio 1’s Newsbeat and 1Xtra News.
Rod will deliver a keynote speech entitled “And finally … the end of radio news – the fight for young audiences in a multi-screen world.”
The session will explore how radio news can compete in a digital age when audiences can access news and information on a wide range of web-linked devices – particularly those we carry in our pockets.
The event is presented by The Radio Academy’s Yorkshire Branch, in association with the Leeds Trinity University Journalism Week.
Journalism Week is a major event on Leeds Trinity University’s calendar, giving students interested in a career in journalism the opportunity to listen to, work with, network and learn from a wide range of professionals. Rod will be part of a line-up that includes names like Mark Austin (ITN), Jeff Stelling (Sky Sports), Neil Wallis (former Editor of the Sunday People), Stuart Rowson (Editor of the BBC Sports Website) and many others.
It takes place on Monday 25th February at 6:30pm. See here for more details.
