Amazing Radio returns to DAB in London

Amazing Radio will be back on DAB in the London area exactly a year after transmissions on the national Digital One multiplex ended.

The new music station is also taking space on DAB in Dublin as part of its international expansion plans which includes time-shifted streams for US time zones.

“We’re back, not yet nationally in the UK, although we hope to get there one day,” Matt Jamison, Amazing Radio Programme Director told RadioToday.

amazingradio“We were sad to come off DAB, but we kept going online and on mobile Apps, increasing ourĀ audience and improving our output every month. Now we’re back, bigger and hopefully better, broadcasting in London and the south-east initially on the D2 DAB multiplex”.

The station will be back on-air on May 13th after playing Birdsong as a test – a nod to the channel it replaced when transmissions first started nationally in 2009.

Amazing Beats and Amazing Chill will also commence streaming via the station’s website.

“Getting back on the air is the first step of a major expansion of amazing” says Amazing Media parent company founder CEO Paul Campbell.

“We have expanded all our operations, from the B2B music delivery service Amazing Instore which gives musicians new revenue chances and reduces costs for retailers, to sessions and gigs in venues large and small -small music pubs to the Royal Albert Hall. Next, we go transatlantic, with a major launch in the USA scheduled for later in 2013.

“We have some very exciting and unexpected things to announce then. It’s all part of our promise to help new and emerging musicians get discovered and make money in a fair and ethical way. We’re sorry we could not persuade Arqiva to let us back nationally on Digital One, but we will keep serving new music lovers, in more places than ever, in the years to come”.
