Radio 2 fails to cope with the end of BST

BBC Radio 2 played out two different pre-recorded parts of the Bob Harris show on Sunday morning as the clocks went back an hour at 2am.

The Guardian reports the second hour of Harris’s show, which began at midnight, was accidentally broadcast on top of another segment of the four-hour show.

It sounds like the emergency tape also kicked in, with Abba and Olly Murs also playing out for 20 minutes. RadioToday understands hour 2 and hour 3 played out at the same time due to a labelling issue.

The BBC said: “Last night between 1am and 2am there was a technical glitch which affected Bob Harris’ show. We are currently looking into the cause and apologise to listeners tuning in at that time.”

Bob Harris has apologised for the error via Twitter, and said: “We will be re-broadcasting the @NickCapaldi session as soon as we can. So sorry that a technical fault had such a big impact on the show.”

The show is now unavailable on iPlayer. If anyone recorded it, send it over to Radiofail.
