Justin Kings joins US journalism school

Former BBC, GCap and Bauer news editor Justin Kings is to teach a 12 week course in Social Media at the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications.

It’ll start in Spring 2014, with lessons taught via videolink over the internet.

Social media has become one of his specialities over the past few years. As a Faculty Member of the Eurovision Academy, the training arm of the EBU, he has worked with almost 70 national public service broadcasters on their social media content and strategies.

Justin was most recently working for Bauer Radio in the North East and has previously been at stations including Capital and BBC London.

Kings told Radio Today: “I am delighted to be joining one of the most respected colleges of its kind in the US. I will be focusing on the ethics of social media which is a huge and important area affecting broadcasters and journalists.”
