Breakfast presenter Tim Shaw has been dismissed by Kerrang! Radio following an investigation into a competition at the station.
The allegations against Shaw concerned the mismanagement of a competition on Kerrang! Radio where the presenter was found to have breached company rules.
Kerrang! Radio was alerted to the incident on April 22 and Tim Shaw was immediately suspended whilst an internal investigation was carried out.
Programme director Gordon Davidson said "We have a very open and honest relationship with our listeners and no matter who breaks that trust we have to act. After a full investigation, we have decided to terminate Tim Shaw's contract."
The station has broadcast an on air apology.
Sony Award winners Simon James and Hill will host Kerrang! Radio's Morning After show from next week, while Kate Lawler moves to drivetime until a new schedule is announced.
No other member of staff was involved in the incident.
