Global has promoted some staff and created new roles in its Broadcasting & Content team.
Richard Steel has been promoted to Managing Editor of Heart. He moves from being Deputy Managing Editor.
Two of Global’s Managing Editors are promoted into newly created Senior Managing Editor positions.
Sally Ardis becomes Senior Managing Editor for Heart, Smooth and Gold. She is currently Head of Branded Content and Managing Editor for Smooth.
Tom Cheal is promoted to Senior Managing Editor for LBC. Under his leadership, the station has achieved its highest audiences.
Group Head of Programming Operations, Greg Hughes, is promoted to Director of Strategy, Innovation & Talent Development for Broadcasting & Content.
Greg has recently led a number of new station launches, including Capital Chill and Radio X Classic Rock. He has introduced new presenter talent to Global as well as being instrumental in delivering new schedules and shows for Heart Scotland and Capital Scotland. Greg will continue to lead Global’s regional Broadcasting and Content teams.
Andy Everett, who was previously Heart’s Managing Editor, is moving to be Managing Editor for Scotland. Both Heart Scotland and Capital Scotland launched brand new schedules this week, broadcasting live from Glasgow seven days a week.
