Former BBC Radio 2 controller Lesley Douglas has landed another job – but outside of the radio industry. Lesley will join Universal Music, the record company behind Take That and Girls Aloud.
She will run Universal's television and radio production business and be responsible for business development.
Lesley quit her position at BBC Radio 2 after the Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand affair four weeks ago. Just last week it was revealed, via the publication of company emails, that Lesley authorised the use of the pre-recorded telephone call which landed Ross and Brand in trouble.
David Joseph, chairman of Universal Music UK, said: “Our company and our artists have worked with Lesley for many years. She has an exceptional rapport with artists and is simply one of the best media executives and leaders in the business.”
She takes up her new position on December 8th.
