Dave Lee Travis is joining Heritage Chart Radio to host a Sunday morning programme.
The news was shared by Mike Read during his Breakfast Show on the station this morning.
He said: “Dave and I go back to 1978 when we became colleagues for the first time at the BBC.
“I even made my first appearance on Top of the Pops alongside him, so I’m thrilled he’s joining the Heritage Chart Radio family to play new music and classic hits from legendary artists every week.”
Consultant Programme Controller Shaun Tilley added: “DLT is simply a ‘must listen’ and was the soundtrack to Great Britain’s Sunday mornings for so many years on BBC Radio 1.
“As we relaunch Heritage Chart Radio, bringing him back to the slot he made his own will spearhead our ambition for the station with more familiar names also coming onboard soon.”
The DLT Show will air between 10am-12pm every Sunday on Heritage Chart Radio, starting on 2nd March.
