Disciplinary for Xfm producer

A producer at Xfm Scotland has received formal disciplinary action for allowing an unedited version of a song containing offensive language to be played, during a time when children might be listening.

The station, now known as Galaxy, broadcast a recording of a live performance by the band Oasis which contained several examples of offensive language.
Ofcom confirmed the show contained the word Cnt, as well as several instances of the word “Fcking”.
GCap apologised for the broadcast, and told Ofcom that immediately following transmission, it had realised that offensive material, which it deemed to be completely unacceptable, had been broadcast.
The incident happened at 8pm on Sunday 12th October 2008.
