Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden was named Best Radio Show at the 2025 TRIC Awards, following a public vote involving around one million people.
The event took place in London today and was hosted by TRIC President Dan Walker, with performances including a live set from Magic Radio’s Lemar.
TRIC – the Television and Radio Industries Club – has been celebrating achievements in UK broadcasting since 1931. This year’s awards recognised talent across TV, radio, streaming and podcasts, reflecting how audiences consume media in 2025.
Alongside Heart’s win, Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby was also nominated.
Other radio-related honours included the Radio Presenter award, won by Jordan North, with nominations for Simon Mayo, Vernon Kay and Ally McCoist.
GB News (Radio) Breakfast took the title of Best News Programme, while Dan Walker was one of four nominees for News Presenter. That award went to Charlie Peters.
In podcasting, the Podcast award went to Bauer’s Staying Relevant, beating off competition from Begin Again with Davina McCall, Sh**ged. Married. Annoyed and That Peter Crouch Podcast.
Sir Trevor McDonald received this year’s TRIC Special Award, honouring his long-standing contribution to British news broadcasting, including his years presenting ITV’s News at Ten.
The 2025 awards also supported fundraising efforts for UWC Atlantic and Bright Young Dreams.
