Bro Radio heads out across the Vale for summer tour

Bro Radio is taking to the road this summer with live broadcasts across the Vale of Glamorgan during its Six Weeks of Summer campaign.

The tour begins this Wednesday, 16 July, with a live broadcast from Penarth Town Centre. Presenter Ceilia Hamblin will be on air from 12pm to 2pm at each stop on the tour, visiting a different location every Wednesday until 27 August.

The series of outside broadcasts aims to strengthen Bro Radio’s ties with local communities and highlight how the station supports businesses, organisations and local stories.

Future stops on the tour include the Flying Start Fun Day at Pencoedtre Fields on 23 July, Amelia Trust Farm on 30 July and Fonmon Castle on 6 August.

The team will also be at the Vale of Glamorgan Agricultural Show in Penllyn on 13 August, followed by Llantwit Major Town Centre on 20 August, finishing at Barry Island Promenade on 27 August.

As well as broadcasting live, the team will meet with local businesses and community groups during each visit. Nathan Spackman, Bro Radio’s Operations Director, said: “Community is at the heart of everything we do and our team loves to get out and about, meeting our listeners, local organisations and businesses.”

Chris Davies Estate Agents, which recently won Best Agency in Barry in the 2025 British Property Awards, is the main sponsor of the campaign. Managing Director Andrew Fenton said: “We’re passionate about showcasing the best that the area has to offer.”

Alongside the Wednesday events, Bro Radio is also appearing at a range of weekend events. The team was at the Cadstock Music Festival last weekend and will also be present at Shewfest, the St Athan Community Fun Day, Barry Town Council Fun Day and more.
