Martin Kelner returns to music radio with Mansfield 103.2
Martin Kelner is back on music radio with a special Christmas Eve programme on Mansfield 103.2 this year.
The one-off show will air between 10pm and midnight on Christmas Eve and marks Martin’s first music-led programme in more than five years.
The programme will feature a mix of festive music, including lesser-heard Christmas tracks, offering an alternative soundtrack as listeners head into Christmas Day. The emphasis will be on storytelling and music selection rather than the more familiar seasonal playlists heard elsewhere.
Martin’s radio career spans several decades and has included work at BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio Leeds, LBC and TalkRadio. More recently, he has been a familiar voice on talkSPORT and on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Fighting Talk.
Away from live radio, Martin now produces a podcast, Un Podcast De Martin Kelner, where he reflects on broadcasting, popular culture and current affairs.
Speaking ahead of the broadcast, Martin said: “It’s been a long time since I last presented a music show, and Christmas Eve felt like the perfect moment to do it again. I’ve been enjoying digging out some festive songs that don’t always get an airing, and Mansfield 103.2 felt like the perfect home for it.”
Mansfield 103.2 programme controller Ian ‘Watko’ Watkins described the show as a festive highlight for the station and a chance for listeners to hear a well-known broadcasting voice in a different setting.
