Aiir backs Community Radio Awards to 2028
Community radio stations will see continued backing for their annual awards after Aiir extended its headline sponsorship to 2028.
The broadcast software company’s renewed support is intended to help organisers manage rising event costs and keep entry fees and ticket prices as low as possible.
The Community Radio Awards, which began in 2016, are independently run by directors from inside and outside the sector. Entries are judged by volunteers drawn from commercial radio, the BBC and academia, alongside former award winners.
Aiir has supported the awards since 2020. The new agreement comes as the awards approach their 10th anniversary, with the 2026 date, location and categories due to be announced in March.
Victoria Atkin, Operations Manager for Aiir said: “We’re thrilled to be renewing our partnership with the Community Radio Awards, especially following Community Radio Week, which celebrates everything that makes the sector so special.
“Community radio sits at the heart of local communities, and we’re delighted to return as headline sponsors to help recognise the passion, creativity and commitment behind it. Our three-year commitment reflects our long-term support for the sector and the important work it does.”
