BBC Radio 2 and Radio 4 feature in BPG nominations

BBC Radio 2 and Radio 4 presenters dominate the audio shortlists at this year’s Broadcasting Press Guild Awards.

The 52nd annual ceremony will take place at The Barbican in London on Wednesday 18 March, with nominees voted for by more than 150 specialist media journalists.

In the Audio Presenter of the Year category, Radio 2’s Sara Cox and Trevor Nelson are shortlisted alongside Heart Breakfast host Jamie Theakston and Radio 4 presenters Anna Foster and Sue Mitchell.

The Audio Programme of the Year list includes Radio 4’s Anatomy of a Cancellation and Forgiveness: Stories from the Front Line, Greatest Hits Radio’s Live Aid 40 Years On, Nick Ferrari on LBC and Whatever Happened to Counter-Culture? on Radio 4.

Podcast of the Year nominees feature Dish from Cold Glass Productions, Ill-Advised by Bill Nighy from Eyepod Studios, Audible’s Pride and Prejudice, The History Podcast on BBC Sounds for Half-Life and The Mishal Husain Show from Bloomberg.

The Broadcasting Press Guild Awards recognise work commissioned or produced in the UK and screened or released during 2025, spanning television, streaming and audio.

On the night, the Harvey Lee Award for Outstanding Contribution to Broadcasting, the Emerging Creator Award, the Innovation Award and two BPG Members Awards will also be presented.
