British Podcast Awards launches first ever Ambassador role

A new Ambassador role is being launched by the British Podcast Awards ahead of the 2026 ceremony.

To mark its tenth anniversary, the BPAs has introduced Ambassadors to recognise influential voices shaping UK podcasting and give them an active role in championing talent.

Replacing the traditional Chair of Judges, Ambassadors will work alongside a panel of over 200 judges, bringing wider perspectives to this year’s judging process and selecting the Editor’s Choice winners.

This year’s Ambassadors include Zak Addae-Kodua and Jules Rowan, hosts of the Life After Prison podcast.

Working with the Prison Radio Association, Zak and Jules have previously won multiple BPAs trophies and helped the charity secure Gold for Best Network/Publisher in 2025.

Mia Thornton, the 2025 Rising Star winner, is also an Ambassador. A cultural storyteller and skilled audio producer, Mia co-founded the Go Off, Sis podcast and worked with BBC Sounds Audio Lab.

The British Podcast Awards 2026 ceremony will take place on Thursday, 1st October at indigo at The O2.
