Kirsty Corbett joins Derby ONE weekends

Derby ONE has appointed Kirsty Corbett as the new presenter of Weekend Afternoons.

Kirsty will host the 12pm to 4pm slot every Saturday and Sunday, starting on Saturday 23 May.

She trained at the Erewash Sound Academy and has previously been heard on stations across Derbyshire. Alongside her broadcasting work, Kirsty also produces the Arts and Toast podcast, focusing on arts and culture across the region.

Her Sunday programme on Derby ONE will include interviews and content from the podcast, bringing local creative voices to the station’s weekend output.

Programme Director Dan Martin told RadioToday: “We are thrilled to welcome Kirsty to the team.”

He added: “I can’t wait for our local listeners at the weekend to get to know her great personality and hear her stories.”

Kirsty said joining the station was “a full circle, warm hug, kinda moment” after making Derbyshire her home nearly 20 years ago.

As part of the station’s updated weekend schedule, Chadders will move to Sundays from 4pm to 7pm.

Derby ONE launched in November 2025 and is available online, via smart speakers and through its mobile app. The station also plans to launch on DAB digital radio across Derby and surrounding areas.

This summer, the station will partner with events including The Ram Comedy Festival, DerbyVision and Echo Fest.
