Black Country Radio and Black Country Xtra are now available on the new Walsall small scale DAB multiplex.
The multiplex was launched at Bescot Stadium, the home of Walsall Football Club, during an event attended by charities, community organisations and the Mayor of Walsall.
Black Country Radio provides music, presenters, local news and community information, while sister service Black Country Xtra gives local people, charities and organisations opportunities to create programmes and develop radio skills.
Station Director Dave Brownhill said: “Launching on the new Walsall DAB multiplex means we can reach thousands of potential new listeners who may not have discovered us before.”
Dave said the station was looking forward to delivering music, local stories and community programming to listeners across Walsall.
Keith Horsfall, Chairman of parent company Waterfront Media CIC, said: “Broadcasting on the Walsall DAB multiplex allows us to extend that mission to even more people, and we’re looking forward to building lasting relationships throughout the borough.”
