Kirkcaldy’s K107FM has introduced a Community Engagement and Volunteer Training Co-ordinator role to expand its outreach and support across the town and Fife.
The new position is designed to help more local people access opportunities in broadcasting, production, and creative development, while also delivering structured media training for volunteers.
As a registered Scottish charity, K107FM says it wants to increase its commitment to community benefit and social gain by widening participation in its activities.
The Co-ordinator will be based in Kirkcaldy and will work with local organisations, schools, charities, and community groups, travelling to venues across the area to support outreach events, workshops, and partnership activities.
Chairperson Jayne Smith described the role as “a major step forward in strengthening our connections across Fife, supporting volunteers into creative roles, and ensuring the station continues to reflect the voices and stories of our community.”
The part-time role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis, with the possibility of extension depending on future funding.
Demonstrating community impact and volunteer development will be key to sustaining the position in the long term.
Jayne said community radio is vital to local life and believes the new role will help the station grow its reach and create more opportunities for involvement.
