The UK Community Radio Network conference and Community Radio Awards will take place in Birmingham on Saturday 24 October 2026.
The National Community Radio Conference will run from 10am until 4pm at Gas Street Works, followed by the Community Radio Awards ceremony from 7pm.
Broadcasters, volunteers, station leaders and industry partners from across the UK will attend the conference, which is dedicated to community radio broadcasting. Those working in hospital, student, BBC and commercial radio are also invited.
Keynote speakers, panel discussions and networking sessions will explore funding, content production, local journalism, community impact, news provision and the future role of local broadcasting.
Be Broadcast returns as headline sponsor of the conference for a second year. Director Luke Tracey said: “Community radio develops the talent, instincts and skills the whole broadcasting industry relies on, both in front of and behind the microphone.”
Applications have also opened for the UKCRN Bursary Scheme, providing successful applicants with admission to both events and up to £50 towards travel and other expenses.
The evening ceremony will mark the tenth anniversary of the Community Radio Awards, which were first held in Birmingham in 2016. The awards recognise programming, journalism, volunteering and community engagement across the sector.
Aiir is the headline sponsor of the awards.
