Rewind Radio Retro will launch across Cornwall at 8am on Thursday 15 October, with Matt Shepherd hosting its first programme.
The new sister service to Cornwall’s Rewind Radio will concentrate on music from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, and will be available on DAB+, online, through its mobile app and on smart speakers.
Its launch comes just over a week after Cornwall’s Rewind Radio marks its fifth birthday on 7 October.
Former BBC Radio Cornwall presenter Matt Shepherd will host breakfast and help guide the new station as it starts broadcasting.
Matt spent 32 years with the BBC before joining Rewind Radio Retro.
Matt said: “It’s so exciting to be part of the launch team for a brand new radio station.
“I’m really proud to be part of Rewind Radio Retro and can’t wait for you to hear it!”
Mark Dodson will present Drive and said he was looking forward to returning to the Rewind team, while Adam Carpenter will be heard on Saturdays.
Adam said: “I am super excited to be working alongside such a talented group of people, both on air and behind the scenes, but hoping none of them catch me dad dancing in the studio which, given our playlist, will be inevitable.”
Rewind Radio Retro was first announced in September, when its initial presenter line up was revealed.
