Rock FM celebrates Sir Tom Day

Bauer Media's Rock FM in Lancashire is celebrating the work of their Chairman and football legend Sir Tom Finney all day Thursday.

Thursday 26th March has been officially named by the City of Preston as ‘Sir Tom Finney Day’ and the station will lead on all celebrations across Lancashire, airing a special news bulletin at 12noon, dedicated to the sporting legend.
Sir Tom, renowned for his loyalty to Preston and famous for having never been booked throughout his professional career, has been Rock FM's chairman for over 15 years and the station are elated to be able to give something back to a man who has given them so much pride over the years.
Rob Kelly, Station Director for the station said, “Sir Tom is truly an inspiration to any Lancastrian and football fans worldwide; more so he has proved to be the perfect ambassador for the station.
"The fact that we are able to dedicate tomorrow to such a loyal gentleman both on and off the air is just a small way of saying thank you to him.”
Tomorrow’s celebrations will conclude with a gala dinner in Preston to which Sir Tom will be the Guest of Honour."
