UTV Radio pleased with U105

Belfast station U105 has gained its highest ever listening figures since its launch in 2005.

The UTV Radio station now has 114,000 people tuning in each week, a rise of 22 per cent on the same period last year. U105 now attracts 7.5 per cent of audience share in the greater Belfast area.
Peter McVerry, U105’s Station Manager said: “We’re delighted with these superb figures which show just how popular the station has become in a short space of time. The news is also a great reward for all the hard work and effort put in by the U105 team."
Other UTV stations in the UK stayed fairly static, with the exception of Wire FM which improved hours and Tower FM which dropped down to 10 per cent share (from 14), losing 24,000 listeners and almost 200,000 hours.
National speech station talkSPORT also stayed at a healthy 7.5 average hours and 2.4 million listeners.
