Real Radio covers Tall Ships

Real Radio in the North East is to sponsor the Tall Ships' Races in Hartlepool for 2010, which includes performances by The Lightning Seeds and comedian Sean Lock.

The international event is expected to attract up to one million visitors when up to 100 tall ships from around the world sail into Hartlepool from Kristiansand in Norway on the second and final race.
As part of their sponsorship package with Hartlepool Council, Real Radio will be the 'Official Radio Station' for the four-day tall ships spectacle in 2010 and Dockfest 2009 on the 4th and 5th of July. The Lightning Seeds will be the headline act on the Saturday while Sean Lock will top the comedy bill on the Sunday.
Andy Saxton, Marketing Manager with Real Radio, said, “Real Radio is delighted to be involved with The Tall Ships' Races 2010 and Dockfest 2009. The Tall Ships event in particular is such a prestigious event for Hartlepool and in fact the whole North East region; it’s one which we’re proud to be a part of.
"We’ll be broadcasting live from the finishing line in 2010, bringing those who can’t be there in person, a flavour of the buzz and excitement as it happens. For everyone at the event, we’ll be hosting the entertainment on the main stage during the festivities.
"Several of our presenters will also be present for Dockfest 2009, introducing the acts to the thousands of visitors that are expected to attend."
