Vernon Kay to replace Moyles?

The Daily Mail is reporting Chris Moyles could be replaced by Vernon Kay on the Radio 1 breakfast show in July next year.
That's the date when Chris' contract is up for renewal, and the newspaper thinks last weeks RAJAR results have prompted talks with Vernon.

And although a BBC spokeswoman insisted no plans had yet been made for his departure, the newspaper prints: [i]Mr Kay’s agents are already believed to have been approached and a BBC source said: 'Vernon is extremely popular and the radio bosses love him, no formal offer has been put in yet – there’s still seven months left on Moyles’ deal after all – but he is definitely in the frame.'
Another senior BBC radio source said: 'Moyles is still the saviour of Radio One, but he will go sooner rather than later.[/i]
Last week it was announced Chris lost 700,000 listeners during Q3 2009, and has just celebrated being the longest running breakfast presenter on the station by beating the record held by Tony Blackburns.
