Radio Ceredigion on the move

As expected, Radio Ceredigion is moving from its Aberystwyth base to co-locate with new sister stations owned by Town and Country Broadcasting in Pembrokeshire.

Confirmation came as Ofcom gave the green light for the move in a Format request change, first applied for last year.

Radio Ceredigion's first day of broadcasting from Narberth is taking place today, April 19th.

Martin Mumford, Managing Director of TCB says: “Today is another landmark for our company.Over the next few weeks we’ll be building a quality local radio service for Ceredigion with greatmusic, county news and entertaining and informative programming in both Welsh and English. Thestation will become a positive force for local businesses and stakeholders in Ceredigion by offeringthem a professional environment where they can promote their goods and services”.

Ofcom said: "We consider that co-location in this case is compatible with the relevant criteria in Ofcom’s published policy. The criteria when considering co-location requests centre on : the size of station; the financial implications; distance between stations; and cultural affinity.

"Radio Ceredigion is a small station (72,000) and lines of cultural and geographical affinity have been provided by Tindle Newspapers and also Town and Country Broadcasting who own Radio Pembrokeshire, where the station will be co-located."

The sale of the station to Town and Country Broadcasting from Tindle was first [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.5702]revealed[/link] in March this year, with the deal completing today.
