Lady GaGa thanks BBC Radio 1

BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend came to an impressive end Sunday night with an 11-song set from Lady GaGa.

The American singer thanked the station for playing her songs, saying the BBC station was the reason she made it in the UK.

“If it wasn’t for Radio 1 playing my music, I would never have had the opportunity to come to the UK,” she said.

The weekend in Carlisle is the biggest event in the Radio 1 calendar, and featured Foo Fighters, Black Eyed Peas, My Chemical Romance, Taio Cruz, The Script, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J and many more core artists.

Presenters Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Chris Moyles, Fearne Cotton, Greg James, Reggie Yates and more hosted special shows and features from the site, which was streamed live online at various times via the Red Button and BBC Three.
