Steve Wright’s showbiz lifestyle of getting to work at 9am and going home at 5pm, along with eating egg on toast for breakfast has made a double page spread in the Daily Mirror.
The Guardian has then reported on the article, wondering why the newspaper is so obsessed by his mundane lifestyle.
The original report, available to read in full online, headlines with “inside the weird world of the Radio 2 legend” and explains how the Radio 2 afternoon presenter, despite being paid £440,000 a year, lives modestly by eating microwave meals and mini bottles of wine.
The Guardian follows up the story by saying he is a victim of the latest tabloid feeding frenzy, suggesting this kind of story will become the norm following the phone hacking scandal.
